Natural Wedding
A Wedding for Outdoorsy Couples
Twin Lakes State Park, Green Bay, VA
A natural wedding is outdoors and laid-back. It’s defined by earthy colors and embracing the natural elements of the venue.
Wedding Venue
Choose a venue like a state park or the mountains and have your ceremony outdoors (if possible) so that your photos have beautiful scenery as the background.
Wedding Stationery and Signage
Pick a welcome sign with greenery and light wood to set the tone. You can include a wooden window frame seating chart that looks like it came from a cabin in the woods.
Wedding Attire
For your bridal gown, choose a dress that flows like the air flows through the trees. Bonus points if it has leafy details.
For groom’s attire, go with a blue suit and floral tie that goes along with the natural vibe and is not as stark as a black or gray suit.
Wedding Flowers
When choosing flowers, go with handtied bouquets that feature a lot of greenery and wildflowers to make it look like you picked the bouquet yourself on your way to the wedding. For the boutonnieres, pick smaller versions of a couple of the flowers from the bouquets, accented by greenery.
Wedding Event Spaces
For the ceremony decor, add an arbor arrangement to a ceremony backdrop that is mostly greenery, but also features some of the flowers that are in the bouquets to coordinate.
Moving into the reception space, choose crisp white tablecloths and green napkins for your linens. Decorate the chairs with matching green chair covers to tie in more earthy colors to the reception space, and a sheer white sash tied in a bow to coordinate with the bridal dress.
Centerpieces could be variously-sized round pieces of wood, accented with baby’s breath, greenery, wildflowers, and tea lights. Identify the tables with a clear, gold-outlined table number for simplicity.
For the sweetheart table, repurpose your arbor pieces and bring in some more flowers for decorations, as well as the same pieces from your guest table. You can also place some lanterns in front of the table to add warmth.
Wedding Guest Experiences
For your guestbook, have a wooden sign made with your name, wedding date, and natural scenery with the tagline “We’re Going on an Adventure”. Guests can then sign the wood and you can hang it in your home as a reminder of your beautiful day.
For favors, you can have decorated cookies with a tag that thanks your guests for coming and always supporting you.
Wedding Cake and Desserts
Go with a simple cutting cutting cake decorated with piped flowers and a custom cake topper featuring natural scenery. For your guests you can have a dessert bar with a variety of cupcakes, cookies, and other sweet treats.
A natural wedding is perfect for couples who love to spend time in the wilderness and want a relaxed vibe for their big day.
