Modern Wedding
A Wedding with Sophistication
Charlotte Museum of History, Charlotte, NC
A modern wedding is sleek and sensual. It’s defined by clean lines and a black tie dress code for a beautiful, formal evening.
Wedding Venue
Choose a venue like a museum that makes guests feel like they’ve stepped into a classic black and white film.
Wedding Stationery and Signage
Stationery should be clean and classic, featuring black, white, and gold, from the invitation suite to the menu cards.
Wedding Attire
For your dress, choose a satin gown that is silky and creamy. Bonus points if it has a high neck and slit to add some magazine-worthy drama.
For the groom’s attire, go with a classic black tuxedo and all its accessories.
Wedding Flowers
When choosing flowers, stick with the color palette of black, white, and gold, with some accent greenery. The bouquet should be handtied and wrapped in black velvet ribbon and the boutonniere should be white (with some greenery) to stand out against the black tuxedo.
Wedding Event Spaces
Choose a ceremony location that has as much drama as your dress and your vision. This venue had a beautiful pergola with a large, centuries old bell that made for a stunning backdrop for the bride and groom. For a twist on altar decor, use candles to set the mood of a silky, sophisticated evening.
Moving into the reception space, opt for a ballroom with an opulent chandelier. Use round tables with black tablecloths and black napkins (folded into a bow using a black napkin ring to match the groom’s bowtie) as your linens.
For the table setting, place a gold-rimmed white plate on top of a gold-rimmed clear charger, gold rimmed glassware, and gold flatware. For a unique place card, place them like lime wedges on the rim of the glassware.
Centerpieces should feature gold stands topped with flower meadows featuring the same flowers and colors as the bridal bouquet. Accent the base of the stand with gold votive candles and identify with an acrylic table number.
Wedding Guest Experiences
Wow your guests with a 360 photo booth and props, allowing them to get stunning photos and videos of their beautiful outfits. After all, they should be dressed to the nine’s for your big day!
Wedding Cake and Desserts
For your cake, have your cake artist design a white multi-tiered cake featuring giant gold paper flowers to tie into the color palette and create wow factor.
A modern wedding is perfect for couples who like sleek looks and want a black tie affair in a unique venue (like a museum) for their big day.
