Bailey and Michael
A Spring Garden Party Wedding
The Morehouse Inn, Charlotte, NC
On a beautiful Spring day in April 2024, Bailey and Michael said “I Do!” in front of 100 of their closest friends and family.
They started their day getting ready with their bridesmaids, groomsmen, and cherished family members.
Pre-Ceremony
As they were preparing for a beautiful day, the vendors were hard at work turning the historic inn into a floral-filled paradise, perfect for a Spring time wedding.
Once the couple was ready, they did a first look in the garden and exchanged private vows while the live painter memorialized the day with canvas and brush strokes.
Ceremony
The ceremony was held in the brick courtyard under the trees in front of a beautiful array of florals. In front of them were two floral pillars to add framing to the arbor area.
The family and wedding party walked down the aisle to an instrumental version of “Pure Imagination” from Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. The bride was escorted down the aisle by her younger brother and the couple’s (almost) two-year old daughter, walking to an instrumental version of “This Love” by Taylor Swift.
Cocktail Hour
The couple had a short ceremony filled with love, laughter, and promises to God and each other. They shared a classic dip kiss during the recessional, and then guests adjourned inside the cocktail hour to explore the parlor, grab a drink, sign the guest book, and marvel at the display of the bride’s grandmother’s wedding dress.
Family and couple photos were taken and good times were had as the venue staff transformed the courtyard from ceremony to an al fresco dinner reception.
Reception
Once everyone was seated, the wedding party made their entrance to the song “Forever” by Chris Brown, with each group doing some fun dance moves to get the party started.
The newlyweds made their grand entrance to “This is What Falling in Love Feels Like” by JVKE, and then everyone sat to have a delicious plated meal served by the venue staff.
As dinner was winding down it started to sprinkle, so everyone made their way inside for toasts and special dances. The father of the groom gave a lovely cheers, the maid of honor delivered a tear filled toast about her best friend, and the best man celebrated his little brother and his new wife.
After the toasts it was time for the couple’s first dance as newlyweds, which was done to “Yellow” by Coldplay. Following the couple’s first dance, the mother of the bride joined the bride on the dance floor and they swayed sweetly to “She’s a Butterfly” by Martina McBride. And last but certainly not least, the groom and his mother took to the floor and danced to “Always Be My Baby” by Mariah Carey.
Once the special dances were out of the way, it was time to get the party started! The DJ knew exactly what to do and had the guests on the dance floor almost the whole night.
The bride and groom took some time to do a private cake cutting before guests were released to grab matching cupcakes.
After the cake cutting, the bride changed into her second dress and then the couple made a second grand entrance to the song “Tik Tok” by Ke$ha – because “the party don’t start ’til I walk in”.
Grand Exit
The couple ended the night with a private last dance while the guests lined up outside for the grand exit – a parade of bubbles!
